Saw this in the IRS's news & thought of my house shopping friends out there...

Closing Deadline Extended to September 30th for Eligible Homebuyer Credit Purchases

Eligible taxpayers who contracted to buy a home, qualifying for the first-time homebuyer credit, before the end of April now have until Sept. 30, 2010 to close the deal; the Internal Revenue Service announced on Friday.

I'm planning on covering renting vs. buying in a future post (we're renters for the indefinite future)... but for those that are shopping, this is great news!
